    Perfect
I bought this wheelchair for my daughter. She has a left leg above the knee amputation and can’t always wear her prosthetic. This chair is perfect. It’s light enough that she can lift it in her car when she wants to go somewhere alone. She is a pretty small build so it is important that her chair isn’t to heavy. The front wheels are a little wider than her last one so she can travel over gravel a little easier. She is young and rough on her equipment but it seems to be built well. We shall see how that works out. She says it’s more comfortable than the last three she has had! I hope this helps someone decide. It’s a good wheelchair and allows for that independence we all cherish

    Affordable, lightweight and functional
Footrests are easy to put on, take off, adjust for length, and swing away. The armrests fully swinging up and back may be one of the best features. Footpegs in the back make pushing over a door threshold much easier. Light enough for self-propelling. Great chair for the price. Adjustable tension on the locks is super helpful. Sturdy, and it fits in the trunk of a sedan.

Overall good but not the version I ordered.
Everything is mostly identical except the elevating leg rests did not have the push in snap pin system for extending the leg length as shown in the ad image. The version we got was a black pipe (not silver) fitted inside the blue one and you have to loosen a bolt and pull the footrest part out then re-tighten the bolt back in place. It makes the version we got harder to adjust and the black pipe could stand to be a bit longer for longer legged people who need to elevate their legs. The box was beat up to all hell, but the chair was otherwise in new condition minus a few loose bolts that had to be tightened. The “drive” stickers that were placed on the outer sides of the thin plastic armrest panels were peeling off (curling away from the plastic) which was fine I just took them off and tossed them. One of the elevating leg rests didn’t want to go back down because the bolt was somewhat loose, which caused the bar to stay extended and the lever couldn’t be pushed to get the mechanism to release. Thankfully loosening the bolt more made it so we could get the mechanism to unlock, push the leg back down in place and tighten the end bolt back in place. Otherwise it is exactly as ordered, funnily enough the item was ordered from home depot, as there was an invoice slip on the box.Had I known that home depot had these I would have ordered directly from them. Initially I placed an order from amazon and it was to be shipped from amazon directly and was cheaper but there was no shipping date. I called after 2 days of not having a shipping date to ask about the shipping as we needed the chair quickly. after speaking with a csr i was told I would hear something about the shipping in 48 hours. The next day I went to check on it and found the order had been canceled with no notice no reason nothing. This was the 20 inch one we ordered and there were no other quick options so after getting frustrated after talking with another csr who was not able to help me get it reordered from amazon and give me a date for arrival, I reordered on my own and chose the other shipper and paid 40 bucks more plus paid for shipping etc. it was a nightmare process and took over a week to get in addition to the 3 days of dealing with amazon. I am only adding the shipping info for others in case another family / person needs a chair in a hurry so you’ll be aware of what we went through. It seems like a very sturdy chair and everything else was perfect, we only just got it so I’ll give it a while and add to my review once we see how well it does for us. Overall I have faith in the drive brand, a bit frustrated by the difference in the elevating leg rests and the not quite long enough bar for the footrests when the legs are fully raised, but we can work around that. Otherwise I think it’ll do us fine. Its a bit clunky and heavy for me I’m 4’10 so when I have to lift it into my truck for use in getting my Dad to his doctors it will be a momentary issue but I think considering what it does, how it is made, the ease of moving the parts, it’ll likely do us fine. One thing to mention is that the armrest release is just a piece of plastic. I can see how long term that might prove to be annoying if someone moves those armrests a lot that thin piece of plastic won’t likely last a long time or will wear down over time.** Update Aug 2023The chair was working well for us, Dad doesn’t use it often due to his doing better, but it is very helpful for when he has to go long distances, or needs to have a seat anywhere we go if he gets tired. However, somehow on one use, a super tiny clip that held one of the leg rests together disappeared. I suspect from moving the chair and rests to and from the truck. I called Drive directly, and they sent us 2 brand new leg rests free of charge. I was grateful because that tiny little thin metal clip held the whole dang thing together and I was using electrical tape to hold it together but that made it’s use much more difficult. I am SO totally impressed with Drive Medical for sending the free pair of leg replacements, they were caring, wanted to know what model it was for future chair updates and got me a new set of leg rests within 3 days. I’m updating my review from 4 stars to 5, their customer service was amazing and the new set of leg rests were also the type I had originally ordered with the push button adjustments, so that makes me very happy. I can’t say enough good things about Drive after this experience, the man I spoke with was just amazing.

    Great for the Price
This is the 3rd time I’m in a wheelchair. The cost to rent in my area is $88/wk for a manual and $150/wk for an electric. I spent almost $200 each of the last times I rented. It was cheaper to buy this here at $139. I did order the 20″ seat. I’m a size 16 and pregnant, the 16″ rental wasn’t wide enough. I could have gotten away with the 18″ but I’m reusing the gel seat I already had for the previous rental, so it works out. It came in good condition and was easy to set up. I like the color. It’s easy to maneuver and collapse for my trunk. I wouldn’t call this lightweight, the rental was lighter, but I can manage getting it in and out alone. I have sciatica and SPD, so I’m not bound all the time but need it for longer distances. We’ve taken this to the zoo, 3 parks and the store. The breaks lock well and my kids and partner can push me easily when my arms get tired. This wheelchair is a good buy for short term use and is significantly cheaper than a rental. My only issue is I’m 5’2″ and my arms are pretty short. The chair arms rub my forearms when I push myself. That wasn’t an issue with the rental. There isn’t really a way to lower the arms to accommodate for this.

Great value chair! Got this for my dad who has tight door ways and this chair fits and works great! Would recommend this chair to everyone! Been using it for over sn month and have had no issues.

I’ve used 3 different wheel chairs during my 6 month stay in hospital and a loaner after discharge for couple months. This wheel chair exceeds all expectations. I love the easy side guards that swing back easily with a gentle movement of release lever. The wheel tires are very hard and roll easily. I weigh 300 pounds and there is no flexing of wheel chair over uneven terrain. the only thing missing is a cup holder and cell phone holder but that was an easy fix. There is a very useful pocket on the back of seat for carrying small goodies. And the best thing of all. It was a very reasonable price. Far less than the disabled equipment stores want that start at $1200 and climb up from there. Also folds up very easily for putting into trunk or back seat of your automobile.it weighs about 40 pounds which is a little heavy but manageable. I love the color options and I picked blue . Has an upbeat look to it . it is very well designed ergonomically. I needed a little wider because the common 18 inch feels a little too tight so I ordered the 20 inch and it’s perfect. Has enough room to slide a drink bottle beside your hip if needed.

    Perfect.

I have some mobility, but because of POTS I can’t stand for more than 30 seconds, and that makes outings really daunting for me. I wasn’t sure I was ready to admit I could use a wheelchair, but I’m so glad I made the decision to buy this! The chair is comfortable without a cushion, and I can lean back enough that it doesn’t trigger my POTS to be sitting upright for over an hour. The chair is easy for my husband to push, and mostly easy to put in the back of our car (it’s just a little bit heavy, and I definitely wouldn’t be able to manage it without help). We’ve taken the chair out for neighbourhood “walks” about 8 times now, and the wheels don’t show any signs or wear even after being on the pitted sidewalks of Edmonton. The ride is smooth, and nothing feels like it’s cheap or shaking loose or anything bad.Definitely recommend this wheelchair. I’m free again! 🙂

I broke my leg and needed something temporary to get around. This is a reasonable price for a couple of months usage. I’m 5’2″, 110 lbs and this chair works well for me. It’s sturdy, can be easily folded, and leg supports are easy to adjust. If you’re looking for something long term that someone will spend a significant amount of time in, spend more money and get something more rugged.
