Highly Recommended, Especially For Its Design Features And Manufacturing Craftsmanship!
To avoid any confusion as to the product description herein under review, the actual product description as posted by the seller on his Amazon marketing webpage is: Swivel Shower Chair with Arms and Back Heavy Duty 500 lbs for Seniors, Elderly Disabled or Bariatric Adults Bench Seat for Inside Shower Stall, and Bathroom Bath Tub Seats Adjustable Stool.Price-point during this review: $79.99.It’s kind of amazing that when one looks back in time, just how so many consumer products have improved and advanced regarding added needed, practical beneficial features, along with better, stronger manufacturing techniques.Such a case might be made for super-improved home bathroom accessories – – namely, in this instance, showering aids, like this shower chair iteration that I recently acquired as a member participant in Amazon’s Vine Voice reviewer team program. A recent serious leg-fracturing injury, located high up above the thigh where the femur bone attaches to the hip joint, resulted in extensive, rehabilitative surgery for me. As a result, I’ve not been able to partake in ‘every day’, ‘taken for granted’, mundane ‘self maintenance’ activities which are foremost to preserving good hygienic principles. So, this well-designed, clever and ever-so-practical showering chair has thankfully made its way into my forced, newfound daily life maintenance regimen – – courtesy of Amazon where so many similar ingenious, ‘better quality of life’ products have rapidly emerged. Some of the more beneficial features I’ve thus far found in my extensive testing/usage of this device are as follows:1) This inventive seat design in many ways prevents against potentially devastating falls in the shower, not the least of which is implemented with the included 360º swivel-pivoting seat – – which allows for so much additional direct exposure movement toward the shower head’s water source flow.2) Another excellent integrated safety feature is the presence of the ‘suction-like,’ anti slip leg-tip pads to prevent any inadvertent movement of the chair while engaged with the somewhat shiny, slick ceramic tub bottom coating. If your shower is a ‘dedicated/standalone’, non-tub-like version, these anti skid ‘feet’ will also provide necessary protection against a potentially slippery all-tiled floor configuration.3) If sturdiness is your main concern, this wet-area seating gem is purportedly capable of accommodating up to a 500 pound load – – so logically, this seat should amply take care of any human being out there who’s contemplating using it.4) I just love the newly upgraded wider, ‘rubbery’, non-slip covering material on the dual-sided armrests/grab-bars. This serves as a ‘no-brainer’ added safety feature when fear of falling, while getting up from the chair, is a factor. This serves to isolate all hand contact from the slippery raw aluminum frame’s support tubing.5) It also comes with a substantial backrest which is well-connected to the chair body assembly by strong, screw-like, rustproof, stainless steel fasteners. This added feature should not be ‘taken for granted’, as many of the other competing items marketed on Amazon are devoid of this very important feature.

    Excellent 360 heavy rotating shower chair; 19.5” to 22.5” height; 23″ wide w/handles & 17” w/o
There are 18 pieces to be assembled (not counting the bolts and washers), but no tools are needed. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble. Note that the arms are marked Left and Right and it means Left and Right when facing the chair and not when sitting in it. The idea is to have the arms release up toward the back of the chair as shown in my photo. It is very easy to install incorrectly and reverse the sides, so be careful here. The only thing I was unable to install was the plastic holder for the shower wand. Also included in the box are two free gifts of a scrub mitt and a small mesh body puff. The finished seat is very heavy and super sturdy even though the footprint is small due to the narrow placement of the legs under the chair. The extra crossbars make the chair steady so that someone overweight would feel comfortable sitting in this. It is rated up to a weight limit of 500 pounds. I am less than half of that and I feel very comfortable sitting in this. It feels even better when in my tub due to the narrowness of the tub. I do love that the armrests open. I also love that the chair sits 19.5″ off the ground at its lowest point and 22.5″ at its highest point. I have it set to the highest in my photos. There are five height adjustment holes. It is also 17″ wide without the armrests installed and 23″ wide with the armrests installed. It rotates 360 degrees as long as someone is sitting on the chair while they press the center button. Rotation the seat is not possible (at least not for me) when no one is sitting in the chair. The handles release up if desired for exiting – see photo. In summary, the assembly is easy but the armrest installation can be confusing at first. The fact that the armrests lift up/open is a plus. The addition of the extra support beams in the center make this a sturdy chair for such a narrow footprint. The height adjustments and width is suitable for most showers or tubs. Although someoneI who is 500 pounds might be too wide to fit between the armrests, this chair appears sturdy enough for the higher weight. The 360 degree rotation is a plus. Note that the rotation will only work in a big shower or tub as one has to have enough room so their legs do not hit the sidewalls during rotation. The current price of $79.99 is competitively priced for this. I absolutely love this shower chair and it is my favorite so far of all the shower chairs with armrests I tried previously.
