Easy to operate with a little practice. Moved smoothly across laminate floors.
This has been a back saver transferring my husband from the bed to wheelchair. The standing sling doesn’t work as well as shown in the videos. It slides up the back and chafes under the arms no matter how we position it. The footplate needs a higher ridge to keep toes from going over the edge. But all in all I would definitely purchase again.

    This machine saved us!
Mom has been getting weaker after several trips to the hospital, and this allowed us to keep going.

    Good product, not perfect
Mom is u able to walk sometimes. As a caregiver it is taxing on my back. This product is a good solution as I’m able to ambulate her and help to change her from the waste down while standing in the device. The pros: easy to use, not uncomfortable or scary (as Hoyer lifts can be) and provides a great solution to ambulating someone who is not bedridden. We can get her to the car, the wheelchair, the toilet and shower. This is a back saver. The cons: poor assembly instructions, some parts are a bit wobbly, the device is big and heavy so It probably won’t fit into most cars or travel well. Also it’s true what the other reviews say, there are no locking wheels. You also must have 4.5” clearance under furniture so I had to purchase furniture risers for my sofa.

Back saver for me as a caregiver
My mom progressed to not being able to stand, so purchased this lift to care for her at home. It is a very good lift, and makes it easy to transfer her to wheelchair, bed, recliner, toilet. I have also used it to get her in and out of my civic in the driveway at home…wish we could bring it with us. It is harder to roll on carpet, but easier once I got the plastic office chair mats put down. One issue we are having is the sling that comes with it, My mom says her shoulders are sore after lifting her. We are working with a physical therapist for advice on adjusting the sling for her. Overall This lift is very helpful, and saves me from injury as I care for my mom.

    Used product! Not new!
Shipping container and packaging in very good condition. Upon removing parts, noticed they were well protected by bubble wrap, but starting noticing many scratches, discoloration and multiple signs that this was not new item (see pictures). Additional signs were a bolt needed for assemble laying in bottom of box with washers and nut laying around bottom of box and if you look at third picture, does this look like an unused part? Also, quality control not very good, first picture shows the crossbar that a person would use to push the lift isn’t even welded on parallel, it’s crooked. Found more items to complain about, but I’m contacted company to obtain further guidance. It’s not easy to return this heavy and big item, plus unless you take many pictures and videos, good luck with ever getting it back into the box with the cardboard dividers.

Invacare makes great products at a good price
This is a quality device, well made, and well packaged for delivery. However it doesn’t work well if the person being lifted is unable to help stand. I had read that elsewhere, but sort of ignored it. The vest type sling just slides up under the armpits and won’t work. To counter that, you have to get a transport sling, which has straps that go under the legs. Using the transport sling, it will lift the person, but its not as effortless as the videos show. And not as effective for toileting. You have to watch the knees and feet to be sure they stay in place against the knee pad and on the foot platform, and this is difficult, especially if you do not have 2 people. Invacare makes great products at a good price, I am a big fan. Its just this is a difficult maneuver to lift a person that can barely stand to a standing position. I believe any other lift of this type would have the same limitations.

    This has been a livesaver
I purchased this lift to transfer my bedridden grandmother between her bed and the commode or wheelchair. We used to be able to use a traditional sit-to-stand lift (without the Hoyer-type lift) for transfers, but over the years she has grown too weak to assist in the process. We thought we’d transition to a traditional Hoyer lift, but my gram is deathly afraid of being suspended in the air and purposefully squirms out of every sling we’ve purchased to ease her fears. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. OF. THEM.Her lack of patience with the Hoyer lift we purchased and her refusal to allow us to use it had caused tension and resentment between her and those of us caring for her as she became resistant, verbally aggressive, and combative at times. This lift, however, has been our saving grace. With the ability to keep her feet planted on the floor (platform), Gram is more than happy to allow us to transfer her using it. In fact, yesterday, we left her on the commode with her sling still attached to the lift for additional back support, and I found her proudly attempting to pump herself back up into a standing position.I would highly recommend this product for anyone caring for a person who can’t stand on their own. It makes the ordinarily back-breaking process of transferring a loved one a breeze. It’s allowed us to return to some semblance of normalcy in caring for her and restored a much lighter atmosphere to our home. It’s a bit pricey, but it’s proven to have been our best investment so far.

    Lifting dad
We had a little issue putting it together then figured it out. Not the greatest instructions. But it works great and has been a big help to the caregivers.

  9. Lois C. Boyes

Great product the only dislike is there are no brakes on the wheels which is a safety hazard
