You Need This
Wow. This product was a lifesaver, well a back saver to be honest, but still, one of my most satisfying purchases Iâve made in years. I had originally chosen a similar product that was $79 more and appeared to be little more hefty, however, after placing my order I received two shipping delays weeks after paying and was advised it would ship in another month or so. I decided to cancel the order and clicked on the similar items tab below the order and I am so happy I did. This product was considerably less expensive and it shipped immediately, arriving the next day. The ropes are steel braided and encased in color coded plastic to help ensure that setup is correct. The entire product is very sturdy and lifts and lowers evenly and flawlessly. I tried the hand crank but using my cordless drill made it effortless. I have a fishing kayak and gear loaded in it which altogether weighs about 150lbs. This thing has made loading and unloading such a breeze as I simply back my truck up to where my tailgate is even with the deck and slide it in the bed and simply do the reverse when unloading. No more back pain and frustration! I used to avoid going on a day trip because of all the hassle but this thing has made it so effortless. Installation was simple as the template is precise. You simply need to locate your joists (studs) and tape it firmly to the ceiling using the supplied tape, which is very strong. Itâs literally that easy. I have every bit of faith that this thing can hold the 300lbs as advertised and probably more. This is a solid product and has saved space AND made loading and unloading a breeze.

Storage
Instruction aren’t good. The first one didn’t hang level, too much slack in the line. No help in the instruction on how to fix. The first 5 problem solving were just on that and they were NO help. After putting up the second one I realized before you attack the bar with the cables make sure the cables are over the bar. Not hanging straight down. If that makes sense. And the second one hung level not a lot of slack. Not sure they test a product out on someone in a house hold to try and install it.I’m so happy with the extra storage and the ease using the drill to get it up and down. I have 2 and may get a 3rd one.

Good storage.
Take your time on installation , measure twice and use the template. I actually used it on a 15 ft ceiling and used it for lifting my truck topper. Work great.

Top Quality in all Dimensions, Extra Easy Install, So glad I purchased this.
PROs- packaging is top-of-the-line. Not overdone, but thoughtfully executed. Metal pieces protected by cardboard interleaves. Mechanical and product ends by molded Styrofoam.- Comes with a install template. Look, when working over your head on anything on the ceiling, it is hard to make accurate measurements. This kit came with tape to attached the template. Easy release tape that won’t tear of the finish when you remove it. That’s thoughtful. Something you would only expect from the toppiest of top-notch. (yes, I have a PhD. Leave me alone). Once the template is inplace (I assume you’ve already located the ceiling joists), place the hardware, mark, predrill (of course), and then attach with the included carriage bolts.- Heavy duty. The brackets and hardware are all clearly well-engineered for safety, utility, and long-life.- Comes with all the tools you need to install. But, be aware, you’ll want a powerdrill. You can do this manually. But, you’ll need more time and more pain killers at the end.CONs- This is designed to handle up to 300 pounds. Therefore, the gearing matches that design. It takes a lot of turns to lift the shelf to the ceiling. But, again, that’s because it is well engineered. You’ll want to use that electric drill to do the work. And, when you do, there are no CONs.

So Far, So Good!
I bought this for a couple reasons….one to store a few things off the ground in my garage, two to help me lift my rooftop tent onto the rails on my truck bed. I know that is not what it is meant for…..but the weight, dimensions, etc of my rooftop tent will allow me to do this.I casually installed this over a few hours. Backed my truck into the garage and used the bed of the truck as my platform rather than using a ladder. Simply more stable than a ladder and I could reach the 9ft. ceiling of my garage just fine. The trickiest part for me was finding the studs, and taping up the template. I took my time and marked all over the ceiling of this part of my garage making sure I knew where the studs were located. Do the same! Don’t blow through this part. Make sure you know where they are. Use a stud finder, tap, tap, tap again. Use the stud finder again. Just to make sure. After I was confident I knew where the studs were located, I began to put up the template. Two person job…..but you can make it work by yourself if you take your time. I lined up the template with where I knew the studs were located and where I wanted to place the lift. Used the tape provided with this kit. Moved the template a few times on the ceiling and then when I was sure it was right and the template was laid out right, I securely taped it to the ceiling very well. The rest of the installation was easy. Follow the directions. Mark your holes, drill pilot holes, use the lag bolts. I screwed my lag bolts in by hand about an inch or two, then used a socket wrench and socket for the rest. Everything feels really strong. After all was done, I lifted 3 80lb bags of salt (240lbs.) nearly to the ceiling of the garage. I’m happy at the moment. Take your time. Check, check, then recheck the location of your beams in your garage if they’re covered by drywall, that is the most important part. Make sure you know where your studs in the ceiling are. The rest is easy.
