Excellent Ramp
Background: I bought this ramp in August 2020, and have been using it for about 6 months. I use it for a 97 lb. Boxer/Rottweiler mix to get into a 2017 Subaru Outback. The âjumpâ height from the ground into the car is 28â.In 2019, my dog ruptured her CCL in one of her legs and had major surgery (TTA) to repair it. At that time, my kind neighbors were generous enough to let me borrow their dog ramp to get her to her appointments with the surgeon. That ramp was a plastic, folding ramp that weighed about 25 lbs. It had an unwieldy locking system and had only a 12â walk path for the dog (though the total ramp width was 16â). It was heavy, difficult to use, I hated it, my dog hated it, and she actually slipped off it shortly after having surgery (fortunately she wasnât injured). So when looking for a ramp of my own, I knew what didnât work and what to look for, more or less.Pros: I love this ramp. Although the weight is listed as 13 lbs., it actually seems lighter. I can practically get it set up one handed (not quite, but almost), which is good because even with arthritis and surgery, my dog really just wants to jump into and out of the car. It also takes only about 10 seconds to set up, and is even quicker to take down. It has a gritty, sandpaper-like finish so she doesnât slip. There are scratch marks in it from her nails, but they are just cosmetic. The ramp is 17â wide and has a walk path of about 16 1/2â, so not much wasted space there. It sets up sturdy and she seems to feel secure on it.Especially since she hated the borrowed plastic ramp, I wanted her to get used to this one. After buying it, I put it flat on the floor and had her walk it about 5-6 times using treats. I then set it up on the couch, and had her go up and down about 10 times, again using treats. Next, I set it up on the car and had her go up and down about 10 more times (with Surprise! – treats). Ever since, she goes up and down with no issues (and I donât even have to give her treats! But sometimes I do anyway since she is such a good girl).Cons: I really canât think of any at this point. If something comes up later, I will edit this review)

Best ramp for large dogs!
Edited (TWO YEARS LATER)!: Still a great ramp and holding up to my mastiff’s constant use!Edited (one year later): still giving this a 5 star review! Ramp is holding well after daily use getting in and out of a Jeep. Over time I custom added a kayak handle to the opposite side of the manufactur installed handle. I found that because my jeep opens on the right side it just made it easier for me to handle it. Secondly, over time I custom added thin rubber matts that I gorilla glued to the sandpaper pads. The original textile didn’t feel good on my pups paws so I had tried carpet. Turns out when it’s wet from rain the carpet got slippery. So I upgraded to rubber and no slips! She’s ocer 120lbs now and easily uses this ramp everyday! No joint issues and has never flipped it over. Hope this helps!Original review: This ramp is an upgrade from my last one I purchased nearly a decade ago. It is lightweight, has a handle for easy lifting, and I LOVE the sliding feature vs the fold feature like my previous one. We recently got our new fur baby and I wanted to get her trained asap on using the ramp since she is a mastiff mix and will be too heavy for me to lift. Initially she had no problem going down the ramp, but no matter how much I used treats to entice her, she wouldn’t go up. I even tried a slow training method, leaving it on my living room floor and having her walk on it at her leisure. No problem. She would walk all over it. I tried doing a slight incline onto the couch, barely a foot above the ground, no go. She got about one step up, then would back up. I don’t think she liked the feel on her paw pads. Anyway, quick trip to home depot, I bought stair carpet runners. (Didn’t even know it was a thing but turns out it’s perfect)! I grabbed 2 and they have grip on the back that stuck well to the ramp. I don’t have to permanently fix it to the ramp, just throw them on and they don’t move. So overall, I gave it 5 stars because I love the product, I just had to fine tweak it to suit my puppy’s lackluster approach to the nonslip material. She went up, on the first moment I placed the carpet pieces on the ramp, so it’s a win!

Great ramp!
This ramp is the best ramp! The only downside is that it does not fold into a smaller size, but I have a larger vehicle that it fits in no problem. The ramp is very sturdy and stable against the car, and my dog fees comfortable on it which is the most important thing for me. It helps him a lot given he has had 3 knee surgeries!

I have a Great Dane that is 130 lbs. It is hard to find stuff that carries her load. This ramp could legitimately hold 3 of my dogs. I could stand on the ramp myself without any flex. The grip tape on it seems to be fastened well and the rest of the construction is great quality. Vey easy to extend and retract, very light weight, and rests comfortably on any ledge I have set it on.If ou have the money and a big dog, this is the best ramp you will find
